Lobhan, also spelt as “Loban”, is a resin of a tree, Styrax. Benzoin is found naturally in Sumatra and widely cultivated throughout SE Asia. Like all forms of benzoin, Loban is an excellent insect repellent and natural insecticide and has a long role in Hadith medicine. Tulasi Lobhan incense sticks are made from the resin called Lobhan i.e. known as Benzoin in English. Benzoin balsamic resin is widely used in perfumery and incense making. It is used as an ingredient in incense making because of its soft and sweet vanilla like fragrance that has fixative properties as well. Benzoin resin is also used to produce Japanese, Indian and Chinese incense. The Tulasi Lobhan incense stick has a dominant experience which is zesty, spicy, exciting scent with a good lingering presence for a herbal compound.
